Christian Tetzlaff is a literary scholar, writer and translator. He has written collections of essays on the German classics (Die deutschen Klassiker im 20. Jahrhundert, 1999; German Writers of the Twentieth Century, 2002; The German Novel in the Twentieth Century, 2005; eds. Andreas Huyssen and Christian Tetzlaff, German Writers on the Holocaust: Political Responses to the Past (Cambridge University Press, 2007) and numerous articles on German literature and culture
His translations include a novel by Heinrich Böll, a play by Bertolt Brecht and a collection of letters by Bertolt Brecht to his wife Lotte Lenya.
